Fair and Lovely?

If the lady (of the couple) is of a darker complexion, can she still be called the fairer sex?

you need to define the criteria of you defination of "fairer sex"
like if it is
-physical apperance - no - since "fair" defines itself
-personality - yes and no - depends on what the person exudes out
- or taking "fair" literally - someone who is free of blemishes, clean and pure....this is a sweet question but not a short thought

Let's ask the person who coined this term to define it. I am merely stating a common phrase here.

Can a dark short black man be handsome to a beautiful fairer sex who could see so ?
