I think I'd be Tabasco Sauce. Hot on the tongue, harsh on the psyche and one that leaves a lasting memory.

hey Solitaire...could not think of me as a food item!! i give some reasons...

"if i am sweety sugar,
some have diabetes!
if i am spicy chillies,
some have ulcers!
if i am salty pickles,
some have blood pressures!
if i am food bitter,
some have sweet tooth!
oh Solitaire,
how should i be palatable,
i am born indigestible!
i call me a half boiled-half cooked vegetable!
will let you know my ability,
once i cook me to symbolize my personality!!"

Thats true... APOO loves Daal Dhokhli... so much... that he can even trade if for Gold !

Saache ! you can even entice him to do anything with a bowl Daal Dhokhli...

to much for his denial...I personally think he was a Gujarati in Past life... and so his affiliation and magnetism toward Gujarati Food and People in this life.

Apoo Why don't you admit it now... that you are a default Gujju Magnet =D

yep to some extent.. Bhelpuri quite rich in ingredients and that hits different taste buds like sweet chutney to soothe and teekhi (mirchi) chutney that can bring tears. But mostly the ingredients are quite cheap. And one more feature it takes the shape in which it is offered.

All these are pretty interesting questions that you put up. I have trouble with most of them cause I am not thinking of things in these ways.

Anyway I think I finally found an answer to this one (characteristics okay but getting a food item to match all of them was tough)

Anyway I would be tiramisu or falooda. Lots of different ingredients which give lots of different taste but on the whole something that is very good.

Years back while on a formula 1 driver-driven local bus in Kolkata, the onboard vendor sold me few alien looking chocolates..

the call of the sweaty poxed vendor went like this : "aeyyyyyyyyeeee tok-mishti lojanshhhhhe " and i cdnt resist trying one...

4 of them costed me Rs. 1 :)

they actually tasted good...khatta mitha..

years later on a Kingfisher flight i was served the same ..this time served with a plastic smile by the plasticky hostess ...the khatta mitha wrapped this time in plastic too..:0

In bengali i guess the thing is called " Tock-Mishhti lojenshhe .."

Tok is prounounced like Rock !!

I guess Tock-Mishti represents me well...without the plastic mask !!!

Joy deep Majumder said...

i recalled the feel of tok mishti on my senses..and realized that it was also "jhal"..not "Jal -The trap :)

So yes ..."tock-mishti-Jhal Lojjjjenshhhhhe " almost represents me...
