Love?

Can you be in love with two people at one time, like they show in the movies?

You have to be crazy about someone to love that person. If you want more than one person at the same time, then its lust, not love!

However, you can be in love with two or even more, but not at the same time. You have to let go of one (or get dumped!) to fall in love with someone else. But then again, you don't become crazy for someone in one day.

uhi I dun mean to intrude, but I just had to ask this :)

isnt that forcing urself to let go when ur really in love? So that means, u CAN be in love with 2 ppl at the same time. The rest is decision-making by the brain. Just my opinion, thats all :)

@ Tuhin, I wonder what bisexual people do then. I have known people to be in love with a man and a woman at the same time.

@ Ceedy, I hope it does not happen to me.

@ Keshi, I did! The day you wrote it.

I have always belived that LOVE is one of the most over-rated words!

Here we are all obviously talking about ROMANTIC love ...rite?

Yes, it is very much possible to be in love with more than one person at a time. That sucks, yes! But is the truth!
But then when ppl who have loved once, suddenly HATE each other...I don get it..I think thats quite impossible..
There is a saying.. " U never get over some one/thing, U just learn to live in its absence"

I wish it does not happen to anyone :)....its tough to handle.....

but there is a difference isnt it between true love and love - because I think one can only have one true love at a time - or else its not true....
but when a person is a close frieds with different people you cannot categorize the amount of love.....it simply is a gesture that comes from within....

And at Pavi above....
"But then when ppl who have loved once, suddenly HATE each other...I don get it..I think thats quite impossible.."

you are right....love does not die its the lovers that seperate...

@ Pavi, I do believe that love can change into hate. If you believe that love forever stays, you are making the mistake of overrating it. People change. Situations arise. Mistakes are made.

@ Ceedy, What is the definition of "true" love? I always thought that "saccha pyar" funda existed in movies and no one really talked like that. Can there be a false love?

Could happen i guess.. Something that I havent experienced before and never would want to..

Oops! I am not biased, but I did not think about them (bisexuals) when I wrote my comments. I must admit I am not able to comment on this one. Maybe it is possible. Are you talking about love or physical attraction?

Keshi - u don't let go of one to go after another. You let go if things don't work out. And maybe there's a time when you find someone again.

I think we also need to differentiate between love and physical attraction. Being physically attracted to someone is possible when you are in love with someone else.

you might might not agree....

when someone has a capacity to let someone go and liberate him or her, if they want to, that is true love - dont you want someone you love to be happy always....

in case when you just love - you tend to clutch onto people...for your own comfort and not really are thinking about them....

eq. our parent - they simply let us go - a real true form of love....
(it is a spiritual way of looking at it)

@ Ceedy, I think that the second type of love is not love at all. Its neediness. So basically love is love..does not need to have two categories.

@ Mystic river, I guess you are not sure coz it has never happened to you. Good for you!!

@ Tuhin, talking only about "being in love". Maybe physical attraction goes hand in hand with it. But I dont think it equals to being in love. Am I making any sense?

@ Lost Weasley, thanks!! :)

@ sneha - Yes, things do change...but love can't turn into hate. The only way that can happen is when a person feels betrayed, cheated..so its actually love turning into anger, n then we get into the process of trying to boost our ego and convincing ourselves that we have begun to hate that person.

Yes, it is possible. I have experienced it myself. I just loved one more than the other, but I did love them both at one point in my life. Now does that make me a bad person ?
It was a difficult situation, and I wouldn't want anyone to go through it.

I wouldn't know. Depends on how you define 'love' I guess.

From a pure thought level point of view it's very possible.
