I ACTUALLY know of a girl who goes bhaiya bhaiya on orkut and raat mein it's ding dong time! It happens only in India! Sad but yea..

Yeh sarasar galat baat hai. Aise nek khayalat aapko aate kahan se hain. :P

Anyways multiple roles can never function without a GOOD supporting role. ;)

So it can be the other way too,
Din mein behna raat mein 'Na mat Kehna'. :P

I believe that's 'followed' by only hypocrite and spineless people. Maybe only in 3rd world countries - where any unknown guy is your 'bhaiya' - even if you are secretly wanting to make love to him. If you express your desires in broad daylight [i.e. in public] , you're termed 'loose character'. So, better to keep it under wraps until day end, when that bhaiya turns saiya. Twisted minds of people.

used 2 tease a lot of my frnds using that... in college days...

As long as u r biologically not siblings/cousins... no one is nobody's bhaiya!

That cock tease girl in school I secretly had a crush on, but couldn't say no when she wanted to tie me rakhi! :| (I mean WHY?... of all the guys... me!)

(I don't believe I just said it. :))

Preeti said...

Hi,Solitaire...since I'm in a funny mood, this being our Dubai weekend, let me say- that sounds like the first words of a song tailormade for a David Dhawan flick. Is that what you had in mind?Or,is it the friendly neighbourhood doodhwaala bhaiya you're referring to?

Google says Saiya means:

-Japanese:Vegetable

-Dragonball:Saiya-jin means a person from the planet Saiya.
-There's also super-saiyan.

@ Nirmal, nice story. Yours?

@ Friendly, haha! Glad you are so amused by it. Exchange links?

@ Tushar, haha! Another nice one.

@ Keshi, its "brother in the day, lover in the night?"

Solitaire said...

@ Sam, and common!

@ Elusive, ding dong! HAHAH! Ya I knew a girl like that too..in school!

@ Rohit, hahaha!! Now how did YOU come up with that?

@ Vicky, whatever it is...it happens in India!!

Solitaire said...

@ Iceman, haha..you do not believe in "bhai maana hai"?

@ Crimson, feeling better having said it? haha! Why could you not say no?? Maybe she knew you had a crush on her and did that as a safeguard.

@ Preeti, yes yes! Exactly what I meant!

Solitaire said...

@ Broca's area, "brother in the day, lover at night?". Now comment.

@ Rahul, haha.."what are their options"? Is tying a rakhi the only option?

@ Pavi, hahahahahah!! It is, isn't it?

Solitaire said...

@ Ceedy, why sad? This is funny!

@ AmitL, nooooooo...limited only to Hindi. No Japanese please. And yes, music given by Bappi Lahiri.

@ Rayshma, really? Not biological related...then what?

@ Vandita, not just homes..schools too!

Solitaire said...

@ Tuhin, kyon?? Is it your kahani? Just kidding. :p

@ D sinner, shaant baalike shaant!

@ Samby, hahah! That's a funny story. Glad you loved it sooo much.

@ Ghost particle, EXCELLENT choice!

Solitaire said...

@ Ghost, what shall we do now? So mad!

@ Keshi, I just did..

Keshi said...

oh ok :) tnxx Solitaire!

**"brother in the day, lover in the night?"

I still dun get it..:( does it mean he's a brother to ya during the day and a lover to ya at night? If so, how can that be?

Keshi.

Crimson Feet said...

I wish... but unfortunately she had those sisterly things in her eyes when she was tying the rakhi. And she blurted out something to the effect that "i am the only guy she could trust in the whole class". I have no clue what i did to deserve such uncool treatment!.
I mean, I was genuinely, completely, ruthlessly struck OFF as a "possibility"!
:)

Solitaire said...

@ Keshi, thats how it happens many times in India. People do not want to reveal that they are lovers to the public so pretend that they are brother-sister but come nighttime and all's well! :)

Solitaire said...

@ Crimson, awww! I am sorry!

Sam said...

i dunno, if its common or not!! but then.... who knws!!

Deepali said...

Another way we use to hear this was - din mein sister, raat mein bistar

rayshma said...

still.. unless it's pure hypocrisy!

kyamaloom said...

Ofcourse, only I can be so cheap. :P

Solitaire said...

@ Sam, am telling you it is!

@ Deepali, hahahahah!

@ Rayshma, its more of a defense.

@ Rohit, :)

ceedy said...

sad because this situation limits the "fun" one can have....dil khol ke pyar nahi kar sakte...

Keshi said...

o now I get it! Its the SAME in Sri Lanka *rolling eyes*

the girls call their BFs 'Ayya' meaning BROTHER..lol!

Keshi.

broca's area said...

this saying holds good for some Indian girls here [not all of them]...they are such a hypocrites!!..
